“Abused Woman Ministries’ (AWM) Importance of Forgiveness Recovery Program”

We have been posting the "AWM Importance of Forgiveness Recovery Program" teachings since May 28, 2013 so I want to take time and remind you what the Program is about and to let you know we have two more weeks in this teaching; it ends August 27th. The purpose of the Program is to help those who are recently out of abusive relationships or is still struggling with the effects from previous abuse. In this recovery program, I will help you through your recovery process one step at a time; this is a program God gave me and I am giving it to you as He gave it to me. The AWM Importance of Forgiveness Recovery Program is an interactive program so as you respond to me I will respond to you. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss whatever part of the teaching you want either via email to me directly (dehooks@abusedwoman.org), on the Recovery For Abused Women web site, on the Abused Woman Ministries, Inc. main Facebook page  or on the Abused Woman Ministry School of Healing on Facebook.

This program is part of “Journey of Freedom: Pursuing Freedom From The Bondage of Traumatic Experiences" which is a declaration for 2013 and beyond that you are going to continually pursue your freedom from whatever that has had you in bondage for years, recently, or at present!! Continually pursuit of your freedom means that you will stay free by any means necessary!! You will no longer tolerate foolishness of any kind!! You will rise up and by God's grace take back everything that the enemy has stolen from you (your self-esteem, your self-worth, your freedom to live life as God designed you to, your boldness God gave you through Jesus, and much, much more!! This year, 2013, is the beginning of your life and the best is yet to come!!! God has a plan and purpose for your life and I am your life coach; I am here to show you how to be set free from bondages so you can know and embrace God's will for your life!!

Abused Woman Ministries, Inc. is dedicated to helping women, their children and men who have been abused! We do this by providing them with the tools they need to recover from the bondage of domestic violence and abuse. However, we know that domestic violence/abuse is not the only traumatic event that can keep a person from having a healthy relationship! Therefore, we will also focus on recovering from the following traumatic experiences in the "Journey of Freedom: Pursuing Freedom From The Bondage of Traumatic Experiences:" sexual assault, rejection, abandonment, neglect, loneliness and whatever other traumatic experience God gives me to include.

I am dedicated to walking with you (I cannot do it for you – I am an instrument that God is using to help you recover – as He gives me your tools of recovery, I give them to you then you must decide to take this journey) so are you dedicated to take the journey? I understand you have busy schedules so I have broken the program down into smaller parts to accommodate your busy schedule and I will post the new teaching once a week on Tuesday – that way you will have a week to study it. And if you cannot start this Program now, start when you get ready to start; it will always be available on our Blog site: www.abusedwoman.ning.com!

The journey may not be easy but we are in this together and we will hold each other up; no person left behind!!! If you have any problems contact me directly!! God got you in the palm of His hand and nothing and nobody will be able to pluck you out!! God will NEVER leave you nor forsake you!! Trust Him!!

The goal of AWM Importance of Forgiveness Recovery Program is:

  1. To help you obtain wholeness from all emotional, psychological and any other effects that domestic violence and abuse or other issues of the past have caused you so you will be able to live the abundant life Jesus died so you could live.
  2. To get things that are worrying you out of your mind so your mind will be free to take in and think about new things. As long as the old things are hindering you, you will never be able to embrace the new – the old will always be present – however, drown out the old and embrace the new God has for you.
  3. Once the healing has taken place, you will be able to set effective goals and carry them out so you can live trauma and drama free.

After the initial program is complete, which includes all parts of the "AWM Counseling Recovery Program" (AWM Importance of Forgiveness Recovery Program, AWM Violence & Abuse Recovery Program, and AWM Anger Recovery Program) you will learn how to receive your emotional healing with the next part of the "Journey to Freedom" Recovery Program called "Emotional Healing" and after that, the final part will be the "Unholy Matrimony: Healing For The Abused Woman" book discussion group (includes Study Guide); we will focus on Rejection and Loneliness. However, we will take the "Journey to Freedom" Recovery Program in small steps and it will be some months before you finish but you receive a certificate when you finish and most of all, you will recover!

So let's get continue with the teaching for the “AWM Importance of Forgiveness Recovery Program!” If you have any questions, as I stated earlier, contact me via email: dehooks@abusedwoman.org.

Importance of Forgiveness Recovery Program – Part 1H-1b – Session 11 – Aug 13th

Take Action By Taking Responsibility (continued)

D. Rejection

* Who You Are In God – 1H-1b

Rejection causes us to run and hide from others, staying isolated. Instead, we should walk out of our self-imposed prison, set free from condemnatory self-introspection. It is time to break free from these feelings. With rejection banished, we will interact freely with other people, without fear. We can be vulnerable without feeling threatened of exposure. We can entertain people in our homes. We can have fellowship with others.

In Isaiah 54:4 God says, "Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth..."

This verse says, "Fear not." "Fear not! For thou shalt not be ashamed." Shame accompanies rejection. The unloving spirit of shame robs us of our peace and destroys any chance we have to build relationships. As we feel shame, we avoid looking anybody in the eye, hang our head and feel great apprehension. Our self-talk says, "I'm guilty, I’m rejected, don't look at me." Why? Because rejection produces shame.

"Neither be thou confounded." This means not to be confused. Rejection produces double-mindedness and it walks with confusion. You want to accept love and yet, you can’t receive it. You want to feel, "I'm the righteousness of God, through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:9), but you can’t. You know you're no better than a filthy rat;" this is what the enemy tells you but he is a liar!! We will find ourselves agreeing with the devil if we do not speak the Word of God. This is the attack of a spirit of confusion, seeking to make us double-minded. James 1:8 says, "A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways."

In contrast, God says you shall not be confounded, you shall not be confused, you shall not be double-minded, and you shall not be put to shame. Isaiah 26:3 supplies God’s truth in this matter: "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee."

Pay close attention to what the LORD is saying in verse 4. "For you shall forget the shame of your youth." We denounce inherited shame and childhood rejection. God says we can forget the shame, rejection and guilt from our past. We are set free!

* Release From Rejection - 1H-1c

Do you want release from rejection? Take these four steps:

  • First, accept God's love once and for all. You are accepted, not rejected. God the Father is the giver of every good and perfect gift. If it is not good and perfect, it is not from God.
  • Second, you must get rid of all self-rejection. God is for you; who can be against you? Since God has accepted you, you must accept yourself.
  • Third, do not let other people's rejection of you get to you. You must remember you do not have to receive the pain of rejection. We cannot stop people from rejecting us but can control how we react. Do not react by receiving the pain – you do not have to receive the rejection. It is the sin of idolatry because we are putting the actions or words of person above God's. God will never reject you because He loves you! He is the only One who can give you unconditional love.
  • Fourth, we must repent for the sin of rejection. Quit believing the devil and his lies. We suggest that you pray through and accept the truth of what God thinks of you. You are the apple of His eye, the bride of Christ, the righteousness of God by faith, a son or daughter of God, the heir of all creation, known and planned before the foundation of the world, unique, and special. God has a place for you in the universe, and your place will, and already has, changed the future of the world.

Ephesians 1:4-12 says, "just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory" (biblegateway.com - NKJV).
