Fear: A Hindrance – Session 10 - Part B-1

4. Don’t Listen to Fear Session 10 - Part B-1

What we speak is what we get! Job 22:28 says, “You will also decide and decree a thing, and it will be established for you; And the light [of God’s favor] will shine upon your ways” (biblegateway.com – AMP). Job said in 3:25-26, “For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me. 26 I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest, for trouble comes” (biblegateway.com – NKJV). In these verses of Scripture, Job is saying, if we decide to decree a thing, it will happen and what we worry about, we get; what we fear, will come upon us.

Remember 1 John 4:18 said fear has torment? Where does torment come from? It comes from the devil, NOT God! The devil torments us with fears, that enter through what we see and hear. We see things happening in our body (a lump or feel unusual pain) and begin to fear (panic); instead of rebuking it. Especially is what is going on in our bodies, is something our parents died of – like cancer or kidney problems. The devil will immediately tell us, “That is the same thing your mom died with; it started on her skin like that too.” When we panic, that opens the door for fear to come in. We can also hear or see things on the news or while watching television and become fearful. Even when some people think of the Rapture, they become fearful; especially if they are unsaved (Luke 21:26).

Fear is personal; it tells us, “It’s all about YOU!” Fear causes us to focus on ourselves and not God; we look at our ability instead of God’s. We have NO ability without God; we cannot take care of ourselves. Acts 17:28 lets us know that it is in Him (God), that we live, move, and have our being! We can’t even breathe without God – without God we can do nothing but with Him, ALL things are possible, IF we believe (Matthew 19:23-30). I like that song by Tye Tribbett, "What Can I Do" – enjoy!

Fear and faith are equal; one will always replace the other! You will be either full of fear or full or faith; faith and fear CANNOT occupy the same space, at the same time!

5.  Kinds of Torment - Session 10 – Part B-1

Fear causes us to become stressed and have anxiety disorders; anxiety disorders cause excess adrenalin and cortisol, in our bodies – it also weakens our immune systems which make us susceptible to all diseases. Below are a few of the fears, that the devil use to torment us with – they are symptoms of fear (click here for a more in depth teaching on fear - "NO MORE Fear"):
