Getting to The Root of Our Problem: Sickness - Session 13 - Part B-2

III. Toxic Emotions: Forgiveness – Session 13 - Part B-2

3. Third point of view – Scriptures – Session 13 - Part B-2:

The Scriptures Dr. Mathias gave which prove the connection between disease and sin (unforgiveness) (remember, unforgiveness (sin) is the spiritual root of a disease).

Proverbs 4:23 – “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

Proverbs 14:30 – “A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.”

Proverbs 16:24 – “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”

Proverbs 17:22 – “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

(Scriptures are KJV taken from www.biblegateway.com)

Our bones do not function properly when our spirit is broken, and we speak negative words or negative words have been or are being spoken to us. Our bones produce the cells of our immune system; pleasant words are sweet to the soul and health to our bones. But a broken spirit or negative words will destroy our immune system. Medicine agrees with Scripture: Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” We need to remember that our words have the power of life and death for not only ourselves but everyone around us; our action affects everyone close to us.

3 John 1:2 shows that, as it goes well with our soul, it will go well with our health: Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.”

As I stated before, forgiveness is a choice! All of those negative emotions we have discussed in this teaching are choices; we choose whether we are going to live in that negative state and bring sickness and diseases upon ourselves or are we going to release the people or person who has wronged us so those negative emotions can be released.

Also, your body is shell; its purpose is to house your spirit and soul! If your soul has not been restored, you will have the same desires as you did before you accepted Christ! David said in Psalms 23, verse 3, that God restores his soul! It is imperative that our souls be restored, otherwise, we will keep doing the same thing we did before we accepted Christ! Remember, your soul is where the old man lives; your own mind, will, emotions; your soul was not regenerated when you accepted Christ, your spirit man was. If you have dysfunctional things happening in your soul, it will reflect in and on your body!

Are you ready to get rid of unforgiveness and all those things that have been tormenting you because of unforgiveness (PTSD, nightmares, depression, anxiety, back issues, intermittent explosive disorder, etc.)? In the next session, I have provided “The Forgiveness Affidavit” so you can make a list of everyone you need to forgive. Once you write the names on the list, there is a prayer for you to pray, asking God to forgive you, as you forgive others. Keep a pen and paper handy as you pray; Holy Spirit speaks sometimes, after you pray about people – stay open so you can hear the Holy Spirit speaking.
