Recovery For Abused Women

“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"

God Is…I Am Devotional (100 Days to A Renewed Mind) TBN - Days 14 & 15

Day 14 – 2/8/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

I Am A Sheep of His Pasture

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

Know that the LORD, He is God; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.

PSALMS 100:3, NKJV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

The Lord is God. He made you and you are His. You belong to no other. As such, He is your Shepherd, Provider, Protector, and Guide, a close Friend and Comfort. What then does a good shepherd do? He lays down His life for His sheep.

We are His sheep. We hear His voice. He calls us by name and leads us out. When He brings us, He goes before us and we follow Him, for we know His voice. We will by no means follow a stranger but flee from every other voice. This is our safety, remaining in earshot of the Good Shepherd.

He is our Shepherd and we belong in His pasture. He has appointed our days and the boundaries of our dwellings. He has prepared a place and a time for us. Are we remaining in the pasture of the Lord? Are we abiding close by? It is when we wander from His fields and away from His voice that we find ourselves out of the shelter of His protection.

To be a sheep is to trust in the shepherd. Sheep are happiest when they can rely on their shepherd. Are you a sheep? Do you rely on the Shepherd for your provision, protection, and guidance? Choose today to remain content in the pasture of the Good Shepherd. His grass is greener. His water is sweeter. Joy is ours when we remain close enough to hear His voice when He calls.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

You were created in the image of a speaking God. And He created you with the ability to hear Him. Because He says very clearly, I am the Good Shepherd and My sheep hear My voice.

Day 15 – 2/9/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

God is Jehovah-M’Kaddesh.

(The God who Sanctifies Me)

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

“Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God. And you shall keep My statutes, and perform them: I am the Lord who sanctifies you.”

LEVITICUS 20:7-8, NKJV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

God is a holy God. He has always been holy, and He will always be holy. His holiness is unmatched, eternal, and glorious. We must never forget the holiness of God. He is more holy than we understand. Around god’s throne there are four living creatures who never stop crying day and night, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God almighty!” (See Revelations 4:8).

He made us in His image. You are made in the image of Holy God! That is why He commanded us to be holy, as He is holy. So, what can we do? Actually, nothing in our own power. There is nothing we can do to make ourselves fit to stand before such a holy God.

The good news is that through the work of the Cross, we are clothed with Jesus’ righteousness. What’s more, through His Holy Spirit, God begins a lifelong process of sanctifying us. Yes, you can confidently say you belong to Jehovah-M’Kaddesh, “the God who sanctifies you.” As you abide with Jesus and consider His glory with an unveiled face, you are transformed into His image.

His presence and power change you. Here is true renewal! Here is the ever-increasing glory, which comes from simply walking with and resting in the Lord! Here is life as it meant to be.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

We are saved by grace, not by being good. None of us are good enough to deserve the forgiveness of our King. We have been weighted in the balance and found wanting. We have fallen short. But Jesus Christ tilts the scale in our direction. We are evaluated according to his holiness, not ours.
