God Is…I Am… Devotional

Day 49 – 3/15/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

God is Trustworthy

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

"Therefore, know that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments ..."

DEUTERONOMY 7:9, NKJV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

Unfulfilled promises, broken commitments, violations of trust, failures to come through in the critical moment, these kinds of disappointments are common and inevitable in earthly relationships. People break their word because they're human. God, however, is not like us. He is good. He is faithful. ln other words, He is worthy of your trust.

Your heavenly Father has never left the righteous forsaken. He proved His love for you at the cross, and He sealed His unbreakable covenant to you with His Son's own blood. Even when you break your word or go back on what you said, God never breaks. His Word and has never broken covenant.

Perhaps you have only ever known what it is like to have your trust broken. Even so, it is vital to renew your mind to the reality that God is different. He is not like the flawed and broken people who violated your trust.

He is faithful. He will watch over His Word to perform it (See Jeremiah 1:12). The Lord who keeps covenant to a thousand generations (Deuteronomy 7:9) can be relied upon to keep His promises to you.

Believe He is worthy of your trust. Rest in God’s faithfulness today.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

Above all, God wants to tell you that He loves you so much that He gave His Son to die on the Cross for you.

Day 50 – 3/16/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

I Am Trusting in the Lord

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

PROVERBS 3:5-6, NKJV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

You can trust in the Lord with all your heart. It's safe. To wholly trust in the Lord means to believe His Word and rest expectantly in it. You can believe God and follow Him even when you do not fully understand what He is up to or where He is leading you. You can trust He knows what He is doing and that He knows what is best for you.

Trusting in the Lord and giving your life to Him may not always make sense in the eyes of others. It only makes sense from a heavenly standpoint. The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to those who believe, it is the power of God (See 1 Corinthians 1:18).

God’s thoughts are higher than your thoughts and His ways are higher than your ways. Now, you can only see from your perspective and only understand with your understanding. But all things. He sees the end from the beginning. Even if you don't understand, He sees the good that can come when trust and obey Him.

He wants to direct your path. He has good stored up and ready to give you. He will not force Himself into your life but will give you an invitation to come and follow Him. lt is in trusting Him, in the abandoning of your self-reliance to follow His voice and will-that you come to enjoy the blessings of His Loving Lordship.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

Don’t worry about finding your purpose. If you are seeking after God, your purpose will find you.
