Recovery For Abused Women

“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"

God Is…I Am Devotional (100 Days to A Renewed Mind) TBN - Days 6 & 7

Day 6: RENEWING TRUTH:

I Am Refreshed by the Goodness of God

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

PSALM 19:7-8, NIV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

There are so many benefits to reading and meditating on the Word of God. Where else can you go to find refreshment for your soul, wisdom for your heart, joy for your Spirit, and light for your eyes? There is only one place that offers true, lasting, and real renewal-the living wellspring of Scripture.

It's so easy to look to the things of this world, instead of God's goodness and His Word for refreshment and comfort. Natural things are immediate and tangible. They easily distract us because they are always within reach and shouting for attention. But they can never truly satisfy. At best these false sources of relief offer a temporary numbing of our pain, but fail to bring about lasting change. They can anesthetize, but they cannot heal.

Solo Scriptura: Only the Word. It is not just the "better" option, it is the best place you can turn! If you want your mind renewed, strength restored, and joy and wisdom to be in your heart and soul, all you need to do is sit down with the living, active Word of God and drink deeply.

The Word changes you. You are transformed and renewed from the inside out. You are changed when the power of the Word begins to work in your heart and mind-restoring and making you new. The Bible says in Galatians 6:8 that "whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life." Run to the Word of God today!

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

We stand in a position as Christians where we are either going to be pressured by the outside world to be conformed like they are or we are going to be transformed from the inside-out to be like Christ.

                                                                                                      -David Jeremiah

Day 7: RENEWING TRUTH:

God is Forgiving

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

PSALM 103:8-12, NIV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

Who is like our God? There is no other. Who has the words of life? There is only one: God, the great God of gods, Lord of lords, and King over all the earth. He does not treat us as we deserve. Ever gracious and compassionate, His love abounds towards us forever. Great and forgiving, this is the God loves you!

When God revealed Himself to Moses on Mt. Sinai, He used words very similar to those of the psalmist. He announced Himself as, "The LORD, the LORD GOD, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who forgives iniquity, transgression and sin ..." (Exodus 34:6-7, NASB).

It is an infinite wonder to be pursued and embraced by a God who would introduce Himself in that way. Yes, God is righteous and holy.

Sin or sinfulness cannot survive His glorious presence. But that is why, in love and compassion, He dealt with our sin and guilt at the cross. He arranged for justice to be satisfied through the extraordinary sacrifice of His Son, so that His mercy would be the only thing left for us to experience.

Accept this transformative truth. Your Father God is forgiving.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

He not only forgives you for the sin you do know ... He'll take care of the ones you don’t even know about.
