Recovery For Abused Women

“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"

God Is…I Am Devotional (100 Days to A Renewed Mind) TBN - Days 8 & 9

Day 8 – 2/2/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

I Am Forgiven

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

COLOSSIANS 1:13-14, NLT

RENEWING THOUGHT:

A heavenly Father who forgives: lt's nothing short of a scandalous concept for every other world religion. lt distinguishes the God of the Bible from every other would-be deity known to man. Forgiveness, freely offered, is a rarity in the world. Only in Jesus is grace and unmerited mercy found. Only in Jesus can mankind receive the free gift of salvation through the gift of faith. Every other path to being forgiven and righteous is an obstacle course of works, penance, fear, and striving.

What wonderful news this is! Because God's character nature and desire is to forgive, He went to extraordinary lengths to make a way for you to experience forgiveness. The way is Jesus and His finished work at the cross. His provision put an end to the hopeless, fruitless struggle to work your back to peace and fellowship with God. His perfect sacrifice put an end to striving to reach God by your own merit. He took your guilt and shame upon Himself, and gave you His righteousness in return.

In a stunning rescue from darkness, He restored you back to Father God and brought you into His Kingdom.

Today receive this truth: In Jesus, you are redeemed and forgiven. There is no longer any condemnation. You stand clean and washed and made new before the God of all the earth. You can lay that heavy sin burden down and come freely to God. The price is paid. The way is made. You are forgiven.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

Your heavenly Father has a forgiving heart. When He sent Jesus to die for your sins, He made it possible to forgive and pardon you for even the worst offenses without committing an injustice. Jesus has already paid with His blood for all our sins.

Day 9 – 2/3/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

God is My Salvation

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

"Behold, God is my salvation; I Will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”

ISAIAH 12:2, ESV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

The Greek word for "salvation" in the New Testament means much more than just a ticket to heaven. It means: welfare, prosperity, deliverance, preservation, and safety.

You don't have to perform some great feat, or undertake some costly pilgrimage to qualify for salvation. No, the unfailing promise of God's Word is that "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13).True salvation is a multi-dimensional, comprehensive thing. However, there can be no salvation without the Savior. And what a wonderful Savior we have. The heart of the Good News is that we are not alone. No matter how challenging your circumstances, no matter how severe the storm of life, you don't have to be afraid, because you don't have to figure out how to be saved.

God's beloved Son was sent to find and save something precious, but lost (Luke 19:10). He is the door to deliverance. He is the way to God and all the blessings of relationship with Him. And all who enter by Him will be saved.

Your salvation is not on your shoulders, but rests squarely on the Savior's. He is salvation. You can run to Him for provision, preservation, and deliverance in any circumstance. Call upon Him. He is listening and ever-ready to save.

 RENEWING INSPIRATION:

Salvation is a gift-we don 't have to become holy enough to earn it!
