“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"
Hello everyone, Happy New Year!! I pray all is well with you all and your families. I personalized the Ephesians 1:17-23 prayer, Paul prayed for the saints at the Church of Ephesus. I have the original prayer Paul prayed first in the AMP version, along with the footnotes of the AMP version, and other versions I used, if there are any footnotes first, my personalized prayer after that, the Names of God Bible version next, and Notes from NKJV Wiersbe Study Bible taken from BibleGateway’s website (for Plus members). In spite of all these references to help you understand the Scriptures, please pray before you start looking at these Scriptures, asking HOLY SPIRIT to give you HIS interpretation, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of what you are reading, so you can pray the true Word of God.
Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:17 AMP: 17 [I always pray] that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives you a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him [for we know the Father through the Son].
My Prayer of Ephesians 1:17: 17 Father, I pray that You, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may grant me a spirit of wisdom and of revelation [that gives me a deep and personal and intimate insight] into the true knowledge of Him (Jesus)[for I know You Father through the Son (Jesus)]. Father, I am praying for a release into my physical being, of what is already present in my spiritual being; I am praying that what is already true in my spirit will become my mental disposition.
Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:17 NOG Bible: 17 I pray that the glorious Father, the God of our Lord Yeshua Christ, would give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know Christ better.
Notes from NKJV Wiersbe Study Bible: 1:17 The believer must grow in his knowledge of God. To know God personally is salvation (John 17:3). To know Him increasingly is sanctification (Phil. 3:10). To know Him perfectly is glorification (1 Cor. 13:9–12). Since we are made in the image of God (Gen. 1:26–28), the better we know God, the better we know ourselves and each other. It is not enough to know God only as Savior. We must get to know Him as Father, Friend, and Guide—and the better we know Him, the more satisfying our spiritual lives will be. Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:18 AMP: 18 And [I pray] that the eyes of your heart [the very center and core of your being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by the Holy Spirit], so that you will know and cherish the [a]hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which He has called you, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the [b]saints (God’s people),
Footnotes for Ephesians 1:18 (a & b): Ephesians 1:18 (a) In the NT the word “hope” expresses a cherished desire along with the confident assurance of obtaining that which is longed for. Ephesians 1:18 (b) See note for Ephesians 1:1 (click here for Ephesians chapter 1 and read verse’s 1, all the “footnotes,” of chapter 1).
My Prayer of Ephesians 1:18: 18 And Father, [I pray] that the eyes of my heart [the very center and core of my being] may be enlightened [flooded with light by Holy Spirit], so that I will know and cherish the [a]hope [the divine guarantee, the confident expectation] to which YOU (GOD my Father) has called me, the riches of YOUR glorious inheritance in me [b]saints (God’s people) because I am a saint,
Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:18 NOG Bible: 18 Then you will have deeper insight. You will know the confidence that he calls you to have and the glorious wealth that God’s people will inherit.
Notes from NKJV Wiersbe Study Bible Ephesians 1:15-18: 1:15–18 Paul desired the Ephesian Christians to understand what great wealth they had in Christ. Paul knew of their faith and love, and in this he rejoiced. The Christian life has two dimensions—faith toward God and love toward men—and you cannot separate the two. But Paul knew that faith and love were just the beginning. The Ephesians needed to know much more. This is why he prayed for them, that they would receive the “Spirit of wisdom” (v. 17) and that the “the eyes of [their] understanding [be] enlightened” (v. 18). We must notice two facts. First, enlightenment comes from the Holy Spirit. He is the “Spirit of wisdom and understanding” (Is. 11:2), and second, this enlightenment comes to the heart of the believer. Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:19: 19 and [so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual] power is in us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of His mighty strength
My Prayer of Ephesians 1:19: 19 and [so that I will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of YOUR [active, spiritual] power is in me who believe. These are in accordance with the working of YOUR mighty strength Father
Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:19 NOG Bible: 19 You will also know the unlimited greatness of his power as it works with might and strength for us, the believers.
Notes from NKJV Wiersbe Study Bible: 1:19 We Christians need power for several reasons. To begin with, by nature we are too weak to appreciate and appropriate this wealth, and to use it as it should be used. There are enemies who want to rob us of our wealth (v. 21; 6:11, 12). We could never defeat these spiritual foes in our own power, but we can through the Spirit’s power. Paul wanted us to know the greatness of God’s power so that we would not fail to use our wealth, and so that the enemy would not deprive us of our wealth. The same resurrection power that saved us and took us out of the graveyard of sin can daily help us live for Christ and glorify Him. Copyright © 2021 by Thomas Nelson. All rights reserved.
Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:20: 20 which He [h]produced in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places,
Footnote for Ephesians 1:20 (h): Ephesians 1:20 - The first of three manifestations of God’s power exhibited in Christ.
My Prayer for Ephesians 1:20: 20 which You Father [h]produced in Christ when You raised Him (Christ) from the dead and seated Him at Your own right hand in the heavenly places,
Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:20 NOG Bible: 20 He worked with that same power in Christ when he brought him back to life and gave him the highest position in heaven.
Notes from NKJV Wiersbe Study Bible Ephesians 1:19-23: 1:19–23 By making us His inheritance, God has shown His love. By promising us a wonderful future, he has encouraged our hope. Paul offered something to challenge our faith: “the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe” (v. 19). So tremendous is this truth that Paul enlisted many different words from the Greek vocabulary to get his point across: dunamis—“power” as in dynamo and dynamite; energeia—“working” as in energy; kratos—“mighty”; and ischus—“power.” Copyright © 2021 by Thomas Nelson. Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:21: 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion [whether angelic or human], and [far above] every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and world but also in the one to come.
My Prayer for Ephesians 1:21: 21 far above all rule and authority and power and dominion [whether angelic or human], and [far above] every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and world but also in the one to come.
Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:21 NOG: 21 He is far above all rulers, authorities, powers, lords, and all other names that can be named, not only in this present world but also in the world to come.
Notes from NKJV Wiersbe Study Bible: (Same notes from Ephesians 1:20 NOG Bible).
1:19–23 By making us His inheritance, God has shown His love. By promising us a wonderful future, he has encouraged our hope. Paul offered something to challenge our faith: “the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe” (v. 19). Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:22: 22 And He [d]put all things [in every realm] in subjection under Christ’s feet, and [e]appointed Him as [supreme and authoritative] head over all things in the church,
Footnotes for Ephesians 1:22 (d & e): Ephesians 1:22 (d) The second manifestation of God’s power exhibited in Christ. Ephesians 1:22 (e) This is the third manifestation of God’s power exhibited in Christ.
My Prayer for Ephesians 1:22: 22 And You Father [d]put all things [in every realm] in subjection under Christ’s feet, and [e]appointed Him as [supreme and authoritative] head over all things in the church,
Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:22 NOG: 22 God has put everything under the control of Christ. He has made Christ the head of everything for the good of the church.
Notes from NKJV Wiersbe Study Bible Ephesians 1:22-23: 1:22, 23 Because we are believers, we are in the church, which is Christ’s body—and He is the Head. This means that there is a living connection between us and Christ. Through the Spirit, we are united to Him as the members of His body. This means that we share His resurrection, ascension, and exaltation. (Paul will amplify this later.) We too are seated “in the heavenly places” (2:6), and all things are under our feet. Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:23: 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills and completes all things in all [believers].
My Prayer for Ephesians 1:23: 23 which is His (Christ’s) body, the fullness of Him who fills and completes all things in all [believers]. Thank You LORD JESUS, for making me a part of Your body (YOUR CHURCH – YOU ARE THE HEAD AND I AM YOUR BODY) and I am the fullness of You. Because YOU HAVE FILLED AND COMPLETED ALL things in me since I AM a believer; we ARE YOUR BODY so WE ARE CONNECTED TO YOU!!! And JESUS YOU HAS GIVEN us EVERYTHING we will ever need, when we became born again (2 Peter 1:2-4) – YOU HAS taken care of ALL things pertaining to life and godliness!!!
Original Scripture verse of Ephesians 1:23 NOG: 23 The church is Christ’s body and completes him as he fills everything in every way.
*NEW REFERENCE for Ephesians 1:23: J.B. Phillips New Testament: 23 The church is described as Christ's body (Col 1:18). It is so not only in symbol but in fact (cf. 4:4, 12, 16; 5:30). The church is not an institution but an organism. It exists and functions only by reason of its vital relationship with the risen Lord as its Head. This picture of the church as a body deriving life and power from its Head is developed only in Ephesians and Colossians. In Paul's earlier letters the church is regarded as a body because its members are coordinated in a common function (see Ro 12:4-5; 1Co 10:17; 12:22-27; but cf. 1Co 11:3). The church is further described as "the fullness of him who fills everything in every way." The precise significance of these enigmatic words has been widely discussed. "Fullness" here suggests two things: (1) that which is filled with Christ; i.e., the church contains the fullness of Christ; (2) that which is filled by Christ; i.e., the church is filled by Christ not only with his own life and presence but also with the gifts and blessings he bestows. As his body, the church manifests Christ to the world, but it can do so only as he fills it with himself (Col 3:19) and with all his gifts of grace (Eph 4:7, 11; cf. 1Co 12:1-11). But this Christ also fills the whole universe. He is at once immanent within the church and transcendent over it, as he is both within and above the cosmos. This carefully balanced statement of Christ's role was designed to encourage the church militant here on earth. Copyright 2004.
