“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"
Day 1: RENEWING TRUTH:
God has Made Me a New Creation
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.
2 CORINTHIANS 5:17-18, ESV
RENEWING THOUGHT:
In Christ, God has made us new creations. At the level of our born-again spirits, we are no longer predisposed to follow after the things of the world. We possess a new nature on the inside. His nature. A Christ-centered nature that wants to please God. This is you as a new creation. This is your new life.
When you turn to God, by grace, you are made new. The Greek words "new creation” found in 2 Corinthians 5:17 literally mean “a new being that has never before existed." When you received Christ as your Savior, the mistakes of your past; the old, destructive patterns of defeat and failure; the wounds, hurts and scars inflicted by others-all were washed away in a transforming flood of rebirth and renewal.
That’s not all. Through Jesus’ atoning work on the cross, you are fully reconciled to God. You were formerly hostile and at war with Him. But in love and through the cross, He made you at peace and restored you to relationship with Himself.
Stop dragging around things from the past that don’t belong to the new you. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus.
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
When you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, a divine exchange takes place. You give God your sin, and He gives you His righteousness.
-Joyce Meyer
Day 2: RENEWING TRUTH:
I Am Transformed by the Renewing of My Mind
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what
is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God
ROMANS 12:2, NKJV
RENEWING THOUGHT:
Here is wonderful news! You don't have to strive or struggle to become the person God created you to by. You don't have to live life wondering and wandering blindly to and fro. There is a single, simple, powerful way to both change and walk in the will of God.
How? By renewing your mind with the Word of God. As the verse above reveals, the world attempts to mold us into something God never intended us to be. If we allow it, the lies of this fallen world will send us down paths we were never meant to travel.
This same verse contains an amazing promise. If we replace the world's lies with heavenly, biblical truth, transformation will happen naturally. What's more, we will experience God's highest and best-His good, acceptable, perfect will. That's just how powerful the Word of God is.
John 1:1 tells us that in the beginning, “the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” When we fill our minds with the Word of God, we are filling our minds with the nature of God. If our minds are filled with who God is, we can't help but be transformed and renewed.
The key is for you to identify thoughts, assumptions, and ways of thinking that are contrary to the truth of the Word. That may require shutting out the distractions of the world, so you can begin to hear from Him more clearly. By drawing near to God and letting the light of His presence reveal areas of wrong thinking and deception, you begin to “renew your mind;" transformation and walking in your divine destiny will surely follow—just as naturally as day follows night.
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
Renewing your mind empowers you to be the one managing your mind—and it brings peace. It brings healing. -Christine Caine
