“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"
God Is…I Am… Devotional
Day 29 – 2/23/19: RENEWING TRUTH:
God is My Shield
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
PSALMS 28:7
RENEWING THOUGHT:
God is your shield. He is the vigilant barrier against the onslaught of the enemy. He is the bulwark who protects you and holds darkness at bay. He is a mighty fortress against attack and a refuge in time of trouble.
When the Israelites were in the desert, God was the cloud that provided shade in the day and the pillar of fire that provided light at night. He was their shelter from the dangers and elements of the desert.
How much more can your heart trust in God under a new and better covenant? His every Word is reliable and He shield those who put their trust in Him. He can be trusted, for there is no lie in Him. He is not like fallen man that He waffles or wavers. He is unchanging, stable, and secure. You can fully trust Him, for He cares tenderly for your soul!
That's why it is good to praise the Lord with song. lt is appropriate and fitting to lift up your voice and let your praise rise to heaven. Like sweet smelling incense, your worship is pleasing to the Lord. What's more, worshiping God changes you. As you worship, your spirit connects with the Holy Spirit. ln that moment of divine connection, you are connecting with the Author of Life, receiving new life on the inside. You belong to a good and faithful God who delights in being a shield to His people. Let your heart trust in Him.
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
When you defend yourself, you have only your two hands and your own human resources. But when you let Jesus take up your defense, He defends you with His nail-pierced hands and His legions of angels!

Day 30 – 2/24/19: RENEWING TRUTH:
l am Armored by God
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.
EPHESIANS 6:11-13, ESV
RENEWING THOUGHT:
There is a complete suit of spiritual armor available to you and every Believer. However, it does little good unless it is worn. This is implicit in Paul's command to the Ephesians to "put on the whole armor of God."
He would not have encouraged us to "put on" the armor unless it was a choice. Nor would He have specified "the whole armor" unless it were possible to neglect certain pieces and walk through life only partially protected.
Yes, it requires an act of the will to put on the whole armor of God, so you are fully ready for not only the challenging circumstances, but also the call that God has placed on your Iife. Each piece listed in the sixth chapter of Ephesians has its own specific purpose: The helmet of salvation, the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the sword of the Spirit-the Word of God.
What a wonderful gift this armor is. Put it on today. Take your place as one of God's royal image-bearers and representative upon the earth. Creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. You have the words of life, Christ Himself, living inside of you. In Him, you have authority over all the power of the enemy and "nothing shall by any means hurt you" (Luke 10:19, NKJ V).
You are supernaturally armored by God. Whom shall you fear?
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
A stronghold is anything that gets a strong hold on our mind except the wholeness of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Spirit.
