God Is…I Am… Devotional

Day 43 – 3/9/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

God is Always Good

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

The LORD is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy. The LORD is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works.

PSALM 145:8-9, NKJV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

The Lord is good. This represents the most fundamental and vital truth about God. It is your heavenly Father's nature to be good and He will never be anything else but good. His goodness is ever-kind, abundantly gracious, and overflowing with compassion. You are the recipient of His goodness. He is a God who is slow to anger and rich in love. In the face of our frailty and failings, His mercies are new every morning. Let the absolute goodness of God become the foundation of your faith and anchor of your soul when you are tempted to question your circumstances.

Every day is a new day. Every day you have a new opportunity to experience His goodness. Look for God’s goodness instead of focusing on the negative. Spend time worshipping instead of worrying. The Lord is good and He is good to all. His mercy endures forever, even unto all generations. He really is better than we know. Indeed, He is better than we know. His is divine goodness-more good than any good we have ever known from life here on earth.

God’s goodness is freeing, loving, and merciful. His goodness is compassionate and kind. Today you can be a conduit of God’s goodness to those around you. You never know when one kind word or action will change someone’s life.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

For too long religion has beat people down, causing many to have the wrong image of God. They think He's mean. He's out to get them. But that's not the way our God is. God is a good God.

Day 44 – 3/10/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

I am Secure in God's Goodness

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

PSALM 91:1-2

RENEWING THOUGHT:

You are secure in God. He is your great shield. He is a fortress complete with a moat, agate, a portcullis, and a mighty army of trained warriors defending the walls. Though the enemy may try to break through the defenses, the Lord is on the watch. His walls never fail!

You are secure in the fortress of your good God. Dwell in the shelter of the Most High and safely abide in His presence. As you remain under His wings, you will find shelter and rest for your soul. He is your present, ready help in time of any trouble. He really is near, He really is present, and He really is engaged and active in your life. The Lord is your Deliverer from the terror of night and the arrow that flies by day. He will keep you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He is the Great God who gives His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways.

Rest in the knowledge that God is your security. Find peace of heart because the Lord of Angel Armies is keeping watch around the tent of your life. Call upon Him for every need. He will be with you in trouble. He will deliver you and honor you and show you His salvation. Because He is good, you are secure in your God Most High.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

The battle is not yours, it belongs to GOD! God has the strategy and the wisdom! If He doesn't get you out of it, He will bless you through it!
