God Is…I Am… Devotional

Day 59 – 3/25/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

God is My Lord

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

Blessed is the people of whom this is true; blessed is the people

whose God is the LORD.

PSALM 144:15, NIV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

No eye has seen and no ear has heard what God has prepared for those who love Him. Eternal life awaits all who put their trust in Him. In heaven, the King of kings will wipe away every tear. In heaven, there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain.

Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord. They will dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of their life. They will gaze on the beauty of the Lord and inquire in His temple. They will come in and go out and find pasture in Him.

Out of the overflow of our love for the Lord, we are led to keep His commandments and do His will. Not everyone who says to Him “Lord, Lord”  will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only those who do the will of His Father who is in heaven. Lean into Him. Let your love for God guide you and lead you into intimacy with God. Then you can't help but respond by doing His will.

To love your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength and with all your mind is the first and greatest commandment. The second is like it: To love your neighbor as yourself. Herein lies the will of God. Do this, and you will live (See Luke 10:27-28).

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

Every area of our lives is to be under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. And that means the searchlight of God’s Word must penetrate every corner of our lives.

Day 60 – 3/26/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

I Am Blessed

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

EPHESIANS 1:3, NLT

RENEWING THOUGHT:

God is a God who blesses His people. When Israel was wandering in the wilderness after slavery in Egypt, before they entered the Promised Land, Moses wrote the book of Numbers. In Hebrew, Numbers is Bemidbar which means "in the wilderness." It was in the desert that God taught Moses how to bless the people of Israel.

God gave Moses the prayer of blessing in Numbers 6:23-26, saying, ''...'This is the way you shall bless the children of Israel. Say to them: "The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.’” (NKJV)

In a similar way, God has spoken a powerful blessing over you, because you are one with Jesus. You actually get to experience the blessing that that rightfully belongs to Jesus. You have been blessed with every spiritual blessing. Why? Because you have been “united with Christ" (See Romans 6:5).

Today, the Lord is blessing you and keeping you. His face is shining upon you. He is being gracious to you. He is smiling upon you. He is giving you peace in the midst of a chaotic world.

You are blessed by God.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

The purpose of God’s blessing is to enable you to be a great channel of blessing to others. If you have nothing, there is nothing you can do for anyone else; if you have a little, you can only help a little; but if you have plenty, there is a whole lot you can do. When you are blessed, you have a mighty foundation from which to impact others. You are blessed to be a blessing.
