“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"
God Is…I Am… Devotional
Day 95 – 4/30/19: RENEWING TRUTH:
God is a Promise Keeper
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?”
NUMBERS 23:19, NLT
RENEWING THOUGHT:
People will let you down. The same is true of employers, government institutions, and churches. Even your closest friends and family members will eventually fail to come through on a commitment or promise. It is the nature of being a fallen human. Even the best of human fathers fails their children from time to time. The wonderful news is, you have a heavenly Father who is neither flawed, frail, or fallen. He is divine rather than human. That means His righteousness and holiness make it impossible for Him to lie. And His infinite perfection means He will never waffle, waver, forget, or change His mind.
Your heavenly Father is serious about the integrity of His Word. That’s why it does not return void, but rather always prospers and accomplishes what He commanded (see Isaiah 55:11). Every one of His great and precious promises to you are backed by His covenant with His Son, Jesus Christ. And that covenant is sealed with Christ’s own blood.
Is it any wonder that God, through Moses, declared that He is a God who keeps covenant to a thousand generations (see Deuteronomy 7:9)? Today, know without a doubt that God is a covenant-keeping, word-honoring, promise-upholding God. You can rest and trust in the faithfulness of a God who keeps His promises.
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
Everything changes but the Word of God stands forever.

Day 96 – 5/1/19: RENEWING TRUTH:
I Am Confident in God’s “Yes”
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between “Yes” and “No.” He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God’s ultimate “Yes,” he always does what he says. For all of God’s promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding “Yes!” And through Christ, our “Amen” (which means “Yes”) ascends to God for his glory.
2 CORINTHIANS 1:19-20, NKJV
RENEWING THOUGHT:
In the aftermath of the fall of man, God promised Eve that one day a descendant, her “seed,” would come and crush the head of the deceiver, restoring all that had been lost. Many generations later, He repeated that promise to Abraham; one day a descendant or “seed” would be born and bless all the nations of earth.
God faithfully fulfilled this promise when, in the fullness of time, He sent Jesus into the world. That’s the best news mankind has ever received, but it gets even better! In living a perfect life and submitting to a sacrificial death, Jesus secured all the promises of the Word for everyone who believes in Him.
Most of the Bible’s promises are conditional. But the essence of the good news is that Jesus is our Condition Meet-er. Our very best attempts at righteousness are filthy rags before God. But Jesus fulfilled every requirement of the law while also bearing the penalty for our sin. When you accept Christ and make Him Lord, He becomes your qualification.
This is why in Christ all the promises of God are “Yes” for you today. All you need to do is humbly receive them by adding your “Amen” of agreement!
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
It has to be an affirmative Yes! All the promises of God are yes for us! And in Him, Amen! And when you say that yes and amen, you give glory to God. It is through you, but God gets the glory.
