“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"
Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-7
“5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil” (biblegateway.com - NKJV).
The word for today is trust God. If there were ever a time to trust God, it is NOW. Don’t trust in your bank account, your job, the economy to bring you out, other people or anything else that you think will “open doors” for you; trust in the true and living God to bring you out of every situation/circumstance. God is the only One who can open doors for you (the ones which need to be open) and close doors which need to be closed.
Sometimes it might seem as if you are alone but you are never alone. God promised you in Hebrews 13:5 He would “never leave you nor forsake you.” And God is not a “man that He should lie” (Numbers 23:19). Not only is God with us but He is our helper so we do not have to fear anything.
“…For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’ So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear…’
God said in Isaiah 49:25:
“But thus says the Lord: ‘Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.’” Wow, what a promise!
God has assigned angels to you (Psalm 91:11-12) who are warring in the spirit realm on your behalf.
“11For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.
12In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone.”
Most of all, Jesus is sitting at the right hand of the Father (Romans 8:34) interceding for you and the Holy Spirit makes intercession for you according to the will of the Father (Romans 8:26-27) when you pray.
“34…It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”
“26Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot be uttered. 27Now He who searches the hearts makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
So you see, you are destined to win. God has already ordered your steps and He knows what He is doing. You trust Him by walking where He assigned you to walk; no ifs, ands, or buts.
As Max Lucado said in his book, “Facing Your Giants:”
“FOCUS ON GIANTS – YOU STUMBLE
FOCUS ON GOD – YOUR GIANTS TUMBLE”
In that same book, Max talked about when David went out to fight Goliath. Goliath was so over confident that he made the mistake of tilting his head back to laugh at David. David saw that there was a small area of his forehead that the helmet did not cover; that was all he needed. Goliath boasted in himself but David boasted in God; that made the difference. David targeted that exposed area and took the shot; bam! It was over.
Just as David did, we too must boast in the Lord and target the giants in our life (the things that are coming against us) and take the shot. Take the shot with the Word of God which is our spiritual slingshot and our sword. We will not only knock the devil down but cut off his head at the same time. It’s not enough to just knock him down (he can get back up) but let’s decapitate him and all the other spirits that is attached to the main spirit must leave too.
In your prayer time, as God what are your prayer targets; allow the Holy Spirit to pray through you (using your prayer language) to make sure you are praying the right thing you will cut the devil’s head off every time. Remember, the Holy Spirit knows what to pray for and is effective every time. So allow Him to pray every time you pray and you will see the victory MANIFEST in your life. We know we have the victory already so let’s start praying for the manifestation.
Shalom!
