God Is…I Am Devotional (100 Days to A Renewed Mind) TBN - Day 3

Day 3: RENEWING TRUTH:

God Renews me as I Wait on Him

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!

PSALM 27:14, NKJV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

In natural, physical terms, a strong heart is life to the body. The same is true of your metaphorical “heart”-that part of your inner self where thoughts, attitudes and courage reside.

Do you find yourself a little faint of heart today? Is your courage spent? Do your circumstances require a resilience you’re not sure you possess? There is an answer waiting for you in the Word of God. If you want your heart to be strengthened, the answer is to wait before the Lord.

When seeking to hear from God, intentional listening is a critical element that many Believers neglect. It is vital to unplug, shut out the distractions of the world, and come away to meet with God. Proverbs 29:18 says that “where there is no vision, the people perish.” The same is true for us. Without seeing what God wants to show us, we begin to wither. Life is just too treacherous to make it on our own; we simply must connect with God-our source of strength and stability.

1 Kings 19:12 describes God's voice to Elijah as a "still, small voice" or as a "gentle whisper." God is speaking, but are we tuned in? He speaks in so many ways.

An inner impression, a nudge from the conscience, a random thought, a suddenly recalled scripture verse. Hearing His voice requires taking time to listen.

Do you fill your prayer time with lots of talking, but little listening? Just as in a conversation with a friend, if we want to hear from God, we have to be quiet and wait for His reply. The Bible promises that if we seek Him, we will find Him. Expect to hear from the Lord as you wait on Him today. He will strengthen your heart.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

I am a firm believer in the importance of practicing the presence of Jesus wherever we are and in whatever we are doing. As we commune with God and listen to His Word, we allow His grace to unfold and work in our lives.
