God Is…I Am… Devotional

Day 63 – 3/29/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

God is Reward of Generosity

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

...for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

I CORINTHIANS 9:7-8, NKJV

RENEWING THOUGHT:

Most Believers know that "God loves a cheerful giver." But few understand that He also wants us to give expectantly. If this weren't so Paul would not have followed that reminder about cheerfulness with the promise of abounding grace and "all sufficiency in all things."

We are expectant givers; confident that God will respond to our generous giving by making sure we have all we need to keep on blessing others. And that confidence makes us cheerful when we share.

Yes, it takes faith to give. When you give, you declare-not with just your words but with actions-that you believe God is faithful. You cheerfully give of your resources because you have the calm assurance that God will reward and bless and supply. That is why it’s not about the amount we give but rather the heart with which we do the giving.

You can share cheerfully and generously whenever the Holy Spirit prompts you to do so because of your assurance that, as you do, God will cause "all grace" to abound to you.

Walk in cheerful generosity today, and watch God supply you with "all sufficiency in all things" along with an overflow so abundant you can give even more.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

Giving is important because it does a supernatural work in our hearts, and that’s what God is after-our hearts.

Day 64 – 3/30/19: RENEWING TRUTH:

I Am Free to Be Generous

RENEWING SCRIPTURE:

"Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full-pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back."

LUKE 6:38, NLT

RENEWING THOUGHT:

The knowledge that you can't possibly out give God is a liberating revelation. Once you renew your mind to the truth that no matter how much you pour into others God will always pour even more into you, worry and fear of scarcity tend to vanish.

Unfounded fear of lack and a false belief in the overall scarcity of wealth in God's kingdom cause people to be reluctant to share with others. Once that fear is eliminated and that false belief corrected, you find yourself free to bless others liberally and joyfully whenever the Holy Spirit prompts you to do so.

People in the world view wealth as finite and scarce. When we look at life through the lens of God's Word, we see abundance everywhere. Fish and loaves multiply. Water becomes wine. Whatever is placed in God's hands bears fruit and increase.

God is a generous giver, and you were born-again in the image of Him. Becoming more like your heavenly Father means growing in generosity. You are free to share and bless because of your confidence that He is generous toward you. Maintain an abundance mindset. And don't grow weary in doing good. You will reap in due season because God is faithful. Sow liberally and you will invariably reap liberally.

RENEWING INSPIRATION:

Once you give cheerfully, God is able to make all grace abound toward you, so you always, always have all sufficiency in all things.
