“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"
God Is…I Am… Devotional
Day 73 – 4/8/19: RENEWING TRUTH:
God is the God of Peace
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all
the churches of the saints.
1 CORINTHIANS 14:33, NKJV
RENEWING THOUGHT:
The fall of mankind took peace from the world. From Cain's murder of Abel forward, the history of the world became a story of conflict, war, and bloodshed. In the fullness of time, God restored the possibility of peace through the sending of His Son.
As Isaiah prophesied, "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. His name is called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6, NKJV). And the Spirit-inspired writer of Hebrews blessed his readers by saying, "Now may the God of peace ... make you complete ..." (Hebrews 13:20-21, NKJV). God is indeed the God of peace.
If you are experiencing confusion, know that it is not from God. He is not the author of confusion. Jesus said that in the world we would have trials and tribulation. However, in times of trouble you can take heart, because Jesus has overcome the world (see John 16:33).
Receive the peace of the Lord today. Let that peace guard your heart and mind. Do not let anxiety overtake you. Rather, rest in God's faithfulness to His promises and in the comprehensiveness of Jesus' finished work on the cross. With thanksgiving, make your request known to God and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and mind (see Philippians 4:6-7).
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
Believing prayer ushers in God’s peace. Not a random, nebulous, earthly peace, but His peace. Imported from heaven. The same tranquility that marks the throne room, God offers to you.

Day 74 – 4/9/19: RENEWING TRUTH:
I Am at Peace
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
JOHN 14:27, NIV
RENEWING THOUGHT:
Peace comes from Jesus. In fact, He bequeathed His personal peace to you as a wonderful part of your inheritance as His follower. He said, "my peace I give to you."
You do not have to let the worries and demands of life swamp your thoughts and fill your soul with anxiety. You don't have to fret about your life, what you will eat or drink, or what you will wear. God knows. He knows you need all those things. You can trust Him to care for you.
Yes, the same peace Jesus possessed as He walked this earth is yours right now if you will receive it. You'll find peace in His presence and comfort in His Word. As you fill your mind with His truth, your faith grows. As you ponder His goodness, your fears evaporate. As you meditate on His faithfulness, your insecurities shrink. As you view your life and circumstances through the lens of His promises, your perspective changes.
Receive His peace today. Give Him every fear, worry, anxiety, and doubt. Draw on His inexhaustible supply for everything you need. As He feeds the birds, so He will feed you. As He clothes the fields with grass, so He will clothe you. He is your all-in-all.
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
Don’t live in constant fear of the future…Put your life and your future into Christ’s hands.
-Billy Graham
