Recovery For Abused Women

“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"

Scripture – 1 John 4:16-18:

16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. 17 And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. 18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love (biblegateway.com – NLT).

Introduction

As I was studying my devotional, “First15” for today, Holy Spirt gave me this message and I wanted to share it with you all. I pray Holy Spirit will give you all your own revelations and that your lives will be changed instantly; as mine was! I suggest you all pray before studying this teaching; asking Holy Spirit to reveal to you, what He wants you to know and to change your life, where it needs to be changed!

When we become secure in Father’s unconditional love, His Perfect Love, ALL fear will leave us! Because Father’s Perfect Love, cast out all fear (1 John 4:16-18 - NLT)! This is how 1 John 4:16-18 translates in the Amplified Bible:

16 We have come to know [by personal observation and experience], and have believed [with deep, consistent faith] the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides continually in him.

17In this [union and fellowship with Him], love is completed and perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him]; because as He is, so are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love [dread does not exist]. But perfect (complete, full-grown) love drives out fear, because fear involves [the expectation of divine] punishment, so the one who is afraid [of God’s judgment] is not perfected in love [has not grown into a sufficient understanding of God’s love] (biblegateway.com).

1 John 4:16-18, clearly shows us that fear DOES NOT come from GOD; God does not want us to be fearful. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline” (biblegateway.com – ASV).
