Recovery For Abused Women

“Empowering the abused woman to recover with God's truth"

“Walk ‘IT’ Out By Faith!” Part 1 (Isaiah 53:1-6)

As I was trying to get to sleep early in the morning (around 3 something), I felt an impression in my spirit from God to read Isaiah 53:3. Before that, I was praying for God to help me sleep because I had to get up at 6:45 for an early morning appointment, out of town. Therefore, I laid there trying to get back to sleep:). Then I felt the impression again from the Lord:). I am like, "Okay, is this what I am supposed to read?" Reading the 3rd Verse, lead to reading the complete Chapter:)!

God is sooooo very good!! I love Him so much!! God knows us and knows what we need, when we need it! I will gladly sacrifice sleep and anything else to be in God's presence and to let Him love on me and I love on Him! I want to be where God is; GOT to be where He is (Tasha Cobb, “For Your Glory”).

I read Isaiah 53 from my ESV Edition Bible app, therefore, I will be using that version in this teaching; we will take a look at each verse in Isaiah 53, separately and I will give you my commentary, as God gave it to me. I am in a faith fight with things trying to go on in my body, so I know God gave me this Chapter to read to encourage me; but I am sharing it with you all because I know I am not the only one who is in a faith fight against sickness.

Let’s begin this study of Isaiah 53; I ask that you ask Holy Spirit to reveal what you need to take away from this Chapter-this is what Holy Spirit gave me and He will give you what you need.

There are 12 verses in Isaiah 53, so I will break this teaching into two parts; the first part will have verses 1 to 6 and the second part will have verses 7 to 12 in it.

Isaiah 53:1

Verse: “Who has believed what he has heard from us? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?” http://esv.to/Isa53.1

My Commentary: I have a question for you; I already asked myself the same question. We say yes, but do we really? Our faith will be tried by fire; when sickness try to invade our body, that is when we will find out if we trust God or not. Now I ask you: Do YOU believe the report of the Lord; do YOU believe what the Bible says Jesus did for YOU and ALL mankind in Isaiah 53:1, specifically?

Isaiah 53:2

Verse: “For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him.” http://esv.to/Isa53.2

My Commentary: This verse refers to Isaiah Chapter 11, which talks about the “Righteous Reign of the Branch;” Jesus. And it also referred to Isaiah 52:14  , which talks about how Jesus was unrecognizable after they finished beaten Him; “…his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any human being and his form marred beyond human likeness.“ WOW! Look what Jesus suffered for you and I, so we can have eternal life; spend eternity with the Father!

Isaiah 53:3

Verse: “He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” http://esv.to/Isa53.3

My Commentary: Doesn’t that sound familiar? Aren’t we despised and rejected by man? Jesus is well acquainted with being despised, rejected, sorrows, grief, and anything else we are facing today! Good news is, Jesus has fixed it ALL! Jesus knew EVERYTHING that we would go through and He took care of it all, during his death, burial, and resurrection; Jesus said, “It is finished” in John 19:30After ALL the requirements for sin were accomplished, Jesus bowed His head, and “gave up His spirit.” Remember, God became flesh and dwelled among man (John 1:14), so Jesus was full man, He had a spirit, soul, and body, which we are made of today. Therefore, when He died, His spirit left Him; just as when our body die, our spirit will leave us.

Isaiah 53:4

Verse: “ Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted." http://esv.to/Isa53.4

My Commentary: Because Jesus went through what He did in Isaiah 53:3 for us, He know how it feels when we are grieved, sorrowful, and afflicted; Jesus has experienced them firsthand. Isaiah 53:4 is telling us: 1. Jesus borne our griefs and 2. Carried our sorrows. But Jesus was seen as being smitten by God and afflicted; they thought God was punishing Him. Just as today, some people think God put sickness on them and others, as a punishment; that is a LIE FROM HELL!! God DOES NOT put sickness on anyone!! Jesus did not go through the horrible things He did, for God to put sickness on us!! That is LUDICROUS!!

Isaiah 53:5

Verse: “But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” http://esv.to/Isa53.5

My Commentary: They pierced Jesus for what mankind had done; Jesus was paying for the sins of ALL mankind. The debt went back to Adam and Eve in the Garden and Jesus wiped that debt out for us, when He was crucified, buried, and resurrected. Jesus died so we would not have to because the wages of sin was and is death, but God's gift of salvation (through Jesus), is eternal life. Jesus was crushed for our iniquities; His chastisement brought us peace and we are healed (made whole in EVERY area of our life) because of the wounds Jesus received, during His crucifixion.

We are DEAD to sin!! Therefore, sin should not be reigning in our bodies; we are supposed to be walking in the newness of life! (Romans 6:1-4)

When a person keeps deliberately sinning, because they think they can get away with it, after accepting Jesus as his or her personal Lord and Savior, they are nullifying the work Jesus did on the cross for THEM, and reaccepting sin into their life; not only sin, but death too-the wages of sin IS death!

That is why the person's life is barren, chaotic, dead, dry, full of sickness, diseases, infirmities, unproductive, lifeless, etc., etc.! In other words; the curse that sin brought about, has reentered their lives! All things dead are following the person because he or she, has chosen to keep sinning and disregard the freedom, Jesus has ALREADY provided for them! They are rejecting what Jesus has done for them! But, it is not too late to come back to Jesus; confess, repent, follow Christ, get directions from Holy Spirit, obey God's Word - study the Word so you can know and obey it!

God loves us and don't want us to be lost! We are NOT alone; God is here to help us. Holy Spirit is our Helper, Comforter, Guider, and will lead us into the truth of God's Word. Ask for help from God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), God the Holy Spirit - The Holy Trinity!

Rest in God so you can experience REAL peace; God's peace will guard your heart and mind; God's peace surpasses all our understanding! Never forget, Jesus is our Advocate!

Isaiah 53:6

Verse: "All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned-every one-to his own  way;  and  the  LORD  has laid on  him  the  iniquity  of  us  all."  http://esv.to/Isa53.6

My Commentary: Since all have gone astray, God laid on Jesus our iniquities so we can be restored to Him; come in right fellowship with God. Jesus died so we could live; Jesus BECAME SIN FOR US (2 Corinthians 5:21), and died once and for all (1 Peter 3:18; Romans 6:10; Hebrews 9:28). The work Jesus done (being broken for us, being afflicted to the point of Him being unrecognizable, EVERYTHING Jesus did on the cross, in hell [Ephesians 4:9-10; Revelation 1:18], and His resurrection) is FINISHED!

Because of what Jesus has done for us, we CAN live in this fallen world WITHOUT sinning; we just have to make up in our minds once and for all, whom are we going to serve! The time is NOW for us to make that choice: serve God or serve the devil? You CANNOT do both; either you ALL the way in with God, no straddling the fence OR you ALL the way in with the devil - the choice is yours!

God has sent His Son Jesus as a Way of escape from spending eternity in hell but you have to accept God's gift of salvation, to activate your eternal life card! You get one shot at life; are you going to live on this earth, going through a bunch of stuff and then die and go to hell and be tormented for all eternity OR will you accept what Jesus has done, delivered you from not only sin but from the effects of sin which is sickness, disease, grief, sorrow, and ultimately, death? The choice is yours; choose wisely!

It is time we let our walk agree with our mouth and let our mouth agree with our walk! If we say that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, that mean we have been crucified with Christ and Christ is living through us; we no longer live the life we lived, BEFORE accepting Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior (Galatians 2:20)!

Our life, lifestyle, should lineup with the confession of our mouth! How are we going to be examples for the unsaved, if we are walking raggedy like they are? Jesus is our example and we as His followers, are examples to the unsaved!

When people see us, they should see Jesus in us and then we can introduce them to Jesus, Who will take them to the Father! Let's get it together Saints; God is giving us time to get it right! Choose TODAY, RIGHT NOW, whom you are going to serve: God OR the devil (Joshua 24:14-24)?

Choose God so you can live the abundant life Jesus died for you to live; a life of freedom in God, a life of being restored to God, a life of not fearing death, because God's Perfect love cast out ALL fear, a life free of sin, sickness, disease, and all other consequences of sin, a life free so you do what God called you to do, a life of REAL peace, God's Peace which surpasses all your understanding and Peace that guards your heart and mind, and the list goes on and on; you are free indeed because Jesus has set you free!

Don't you want this REAL freedom Jesus has given you? Aren't you tired of the fake? Aren't you tired of the devil talking with you like he did Eve; twisting the Word of God? Aren't you tired of compromising and taking God's Word out of context?

If so, you can get it right now; come back to God if you have backslid, have not been walking worthy of the vocation God called you in (Ephesians 4:1), or never accepted Christ as your personal Lord and Savior (click here for prayer of salvation). All you have to do is confess your sins, what you have done (yes, God knows but the Word says confess – 1 John 1:9), repent, believe God heard you and have answered you, then walk out your new life by faith in God; knowing that the Word of God is true. Ask Holy Spirit to help you live this life as God wants you to; He is our Helper and much, much, much more!

Get into the Word, get to know The Trinity (God the Father, God the Son [Jesus], God the Holy Spirit) on a deeper, more intimate level - put God FIRST in EVERYTHING you do and stop trying to live this life in your own strength - you are NEVER alone! God said He would never leave you nor forsake you; trust God, trust His Word (Jesus), and trust Holy Spirit and you won’t go wrong!

Give ALL your troubles, worries, fears, concerns, and anything else that frustrates you, to God; cast all on Him because God cares for you - God loves you enough to send His Son Jesus, to save you from death (hell) and restore you to Himself! Choose life! Choose God! God does not condemn people; people condemn their own selves when they reject Jesus! The Bible tells us to let every man work out his own salvation with fear and trembling; God or the devil! Go ahead and kick the devil out of your life once and for all; make a conscious decision to choose Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and follow Him! Choose life not death! Choose God not the devil!
