Wednesday's Words to Live By For November 30th – December 6th “Gear Up! Put on the Whole Armor of God (Part II)”

Paul said in 2 Corinthians 10:3-6: ³ “For thought we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. ⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, ⁵ casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, ⁶ and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.”

Ephesians 6:12 lets us know what we are fighting against. But we are not fighting in our own strength, we are “strong with the Lord’s mighty power” (v1) remember?

¹² “For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world (spirit realm), and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms” (NKJV).

To win against this, you must have the full armor of God on every day; do not get slack. Ephesians 6:13 say: “Use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm” (NLT).

Verse 14 of Ephesians 6 begins your list of weapons: ¹⁴ “Stand your ground putting on the belt of truth (Truth) and the body armor of God’s righteousness (breastplate of righteousness) (Righteousness). ¹⁵ For shoes, put on the (Peace) that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared (gospel of peace). ¹⁶ In every battle you will need (faith as your shield) to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan (shield of faith) (Faith). ¹⁷ Put on salvation as your (helmet) (helmet of salvation), and take the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. ¹⁸ Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere”(NLT).

So, the weapons we are to use in warfare once we have on our armor are:

• God’s Truth – Belt of Truth
•  God’s Righteousness – Breastplate of Righteousness
• God’s Peace – Feet shod with The Gospel of Peace
• Faith which God has given us – Shield of Faith
• Salvation through Jesus Christ – Helmet of Salvation
• Word of God which is our Sword in the spirit realm – Sword of the Spirit
• Pray in the Holy Spirit’s power at all times and on every occasion

Let us “Gear Up” by putting on the whole armor of God and using our weapons so we can stand against the wiles of the devil during these evil times!!!
